Friends of Shawe and Pope John have been supporting Shawe and Pope John with long-term financial assistance since 1986. That was the year that a small group of dedicated men and women in our local community organized Friends of Shawe and Pope John through that vision of long-term financial stability in our Catholic Schools. This long-term financial support from Friends of Shawe and Pope John with planned giving and other ways of donating helps to make sure that Catholic Education is prevalent in Jefferson County and the surrounding areas.
The initial campaign known as “Friends of Shawe and Pope John” started out at $500,000. Since then, the endowment has grown to currently hold over $6 million! Friends of Shawe and Pope John have professionally invested donations to provide funds that make up a yearly gift to the schools. Friends’ gifts to the schools have gone to different entities such as:
- Teacher Salary Support
- Technology
- Scholarships
- Tuition Assistance
- New Stage Curtain
- Several Band Items
