Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am grateful for the opportunity to share briefly with you about our life and mission as Ad Gentes Missionaries.
The Ad Gentes Missionaries are a religious community of vowed men and women who have committed their lives to Christ and to the service of the Church. We participate in the liturgical and pastoral life of the ecclesial community and dedicate ourselves to evangelization, especially among the people of Africa.
Our missionary vocation responds to Christ’s command: “Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel.” We seek to serve the Church wherever the need is greatest, particularly in poor and underserved communities in Africa.
Many of the communities where we service face serious challenges, including poverty, inadequate education, lack of basic amenities, insecurity, and, in some areas, religious persecution. Yet our missionaries remain present, bringing faith, hope, education, and the love of Christ to the people.
For us, evangelization is not only preaching with words. It is also serving people through concrete acts of charity. Providing clean water, educating children, caring for the poor, and standing with families who suffer are all ways of proclaiming the Gospel.
At present, our communities have two urgent needs. First, we need boreholes to provide clean and safe drinking water. Many families do not have reliable access to clean water, which affects their health and dignity.
Second, we urgently need additional classrooms. The number of children receiving education and scholarships through our mission has grown beyond the capacity of our existing classrooms. We do not want to turn children away simply because we lack space. Education gives children hope and helps break the cycle of poverty.
Dear brothers and sisters, missionaries cannot do this work alone. When you support the missions, you become part of the mission. Your generosity can help us provide clean water, build classrooms, educate children, support evangelization, and bring hope to communities that are struggling.
You may never have the opportunity to travel to Africa, but through your prayers and generosity, you can become a missionary without leaving your home. Every gift, large or small, makes a difference.
On behalf of the Ad Gentes Missionaries and the people we serve, I humbly ask you to partner with us in this mission. Together, we can provide clean water, build classrooms, educate our children, and continue Christ’s mission among those who need to experience the Good News.
